Philippe Clement reveals huge Rangers dilemma over Abdallah Sima as Ibrox boss issues Ridvan Yilmaz injury update

Philippe Clement admits he has a huge decision to make on whether to hand Abdallah Sima his first Rangers start in three months in Sunday’s massive Old Firm derby at Ibrox.

The Senegalese star had a blistering first half of the season as he bagged 15 goals, including on his last start against Kilmarnock at Ibrox. But after travelling to the African Nations Cup he picked up an injury that has ruled him out since the winter break with the on-loan Brighton man coming off the bench late in last week’s game against Hibs.

Clement says the wide man isn’t fit enough to play the full game against Celtic with a late decision to be made on Ridvan Yilmaz in the left back role. The Belgian said: “I’m not sure about Ridvan yet. We will see on Saturday and make a decision. Everyone else from last week is available. Sima is fit enough to start but could not play 90 minutes. I have a decision to make on when best he will have an impact.

"It's a big game we know. It’s not yet a decisive game, whoever wins is not the champion. I am happy with what I have seen from my team and the points we have collected since the last Old Firm. We have consistency but that is not a guarantee for anything. The change at Ibrox from the last few months together with the players, together for 90 minutes. Even if things are not going our way they support the team until the end.
