Philippe Clement in blunt Rangers transfer address as one word says it all about January plan

Blunt Philippe Clement once again teased fans that new arrivals are DEFINITELY incoming after his side's win over Dumbarton.

But they'll have to wait and see what areas he's targeting...and how many. The boss was wrapped up on the touchline as Rangers picked up a comfortable victory in horrendous conditions in West Dunbartonshire. John Lundstram, Cyriel Dessers and a penalty from James Tavernier had them in charge and Scott Wright struck a fourth a minute after Matthew Shiels got a consolation on the board.

It was an important win for Gers in their first competitive game back from the winter break and new signing Fabio Silva got some minutes off the bench. So far he's been the only new arrival and fans are waiting patiently on more signings before the deadline in less than two weeks.

Clement was asked for a transfer update and what areas he was looking to improve after the game, but his response was guarded. "I already said it in my press conference, I never talk about those things," he said. "The most important thing is we are aligned with the people in the club and the board. What we want, everybody has the same idea about, and everybody is working hard to reach our goals."

The BBC's Kheredine Idessane then pressed him for a definitive answer on whether there would be more arrivals. And the boss' response was no more than a simple: "Yes."

It was a similar story when Clement spoke to Viaplay cameras as he added: "Every game is important and I want really ambitious players. If they are ambitious they will get chances.
