PGMOL has admitted that Brighton should have been awarded a penalty in their 2-1 Premier League loss against Tottenham on Saturday. Brighton were not awarded a penalty when Kaoru Mitoma looked to be fouled by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the box.
The teams were level at 1-1 at the time. Ad Referee Stuart Attwell waved away the penalty shouts from Brighton, and the footage looked at by VAR confirmed Attwell's decision, but now, Howard Webb, PGMOL's chief refereeing officer, has reportedly apologised to Brighton and admitted the team should have been awarded a penalty.
