Peterborough United’s two most underwhelming signings from the last 5 years and why – Do you agree?

Peterborough United may end up being relegated from the Championship once again this season, but they will not be going down without a fight.

Posh have struggled on their return to the second tier, but they showed against Queens Park Rangers this past weekend that all hope may not be lost with a 3-1 victory over the Hoops.

Even though they’ve spent most of the past five years in League One, something that Peterborough are known for is buying young players and then selling them on for a healthy profit – mainly strikers.

Ivan Toney and Jack Marriott have been the two most high-profile ones in recent years, but sometimes it doesn’t always work out for Posh.

Peterborough were hoping to work their magic with Buckley-Ricketts and develop him into an effective winger, but the reality was far, far different as he made just two appearances in his one and only season at the Weston Homes Stadium.

The 24-year-old is trying to rebuild his career in non-league with Merseyside-based Southport of the sixth tier of English football, but it’s not even hit off for him there as he’s currently on loan at the level below with Warrington Town.
