Perth Panthers Floorball Club all set for Scottish Cup debut as excitement builds towards league season

Perth Panthers Floorball Club is set to mark another milestone moment.

A first ever appearance in the Scottish Cup this weekend has excitement flowing through the Fair City squad.

The Panthers, also preparing for their debut in the Scottish Floorball League later in the month, have been drawn in Group A alongside Hawick Hawks and Inverness.

Captain Adi Moffat said: “I’m proud to be chosen to captain the club in its first ever campaign as we really have an awesome set of guys who deserve the honour themselves.

“We have all worked hard and together over the summer and know we have created a great team that not only will join the league but be a force to be reckoned with within it.

“We also understand there will be learning to take from some games. However, anyone selected to wear a Panthers shirt will be in it to win.

“I’m sure we will send that message to the rest of the teams in Scotland during the cup weekend.”

Floorball is a fun, safe and fast-paced form of floor hockey. It is played indoors on a gym floor with specialised lightweight sticks and a team of five and goalkeeper.

Coach Nick Elder has watched with pride as the club has, in a short space of time, grown in size and stature.

“It’s our first competitive five versus five competition and great preparation before the league starts later in the month,” he said of this weekend’s activity.

“The commitment of the squad and hard work over the last eight weeks has been unbelievable and everyone in the match day squad fully deserves to be there.

“We are going into the Scottish Cup and league campaign as fully prepared as we could have hoped for and I think the team will do everyone associated with the club proud.”

Perth Parrots will also be playing in the Scottish Cup
