Andy Robertson suffers Liverpool hammer blow as Scotland skipper set for surgery on shoulder injury

Scotland skipper Andy Robertson is set to go under the knife for shoulder surgey which will rule him out for the long term.

Gutted Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits one of the best left backs on the planet is poised to miss a vital period of the season after dislocating his shoulder during a clash with Spain No.1 Unai Simon in La Roja's 2-0 win over our boys in Euro 2024 qualifying last week. And now all signs point to surgery for Robertson as the German admits one of his top men is on the shelf.

Speaking ahead of the clash with Everton, Klopp said: "I think the decision will go towards surgery. A little chance we can try without but all experts say surgery will be the best for the long term and that means he's out for a while. We don't know exactly how long."
