Person found dead following 'emergency incident' at train station
A person has sadly been found dead on the tracks of a train station in North Manchester. All lines between Manchester Victoria and Rochdale were suspended after emergency services were called to the incident at Mills Hill Station in Middleton.
Officers from the British Transport Police were called following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended and tragically, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner. The incident was reported at around 11:53 this morning (December 11).
Emergency services worked on the scene to secure the area before services resumed at around 2pm. Disruption is expected to last until around 5pm.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Mills Hill railway station at 11.37am today (11 December) to reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”
