Pep Guardiola sends Man City transfer message over Bernardo Silva and Kyle Walker

Pep Guardiola warned that it will take 'proper' offers for Bernardo Silva and Kyle Walker to leave as he highlighted how expensive they will be to replace.

Walker, who has one year left on his remaining contract, is subject to strong interest from Bayern Munich this summer and is open to a move. However, the Bundesliga club are yet to agree a fee with the Blues despite lengthy negotiations.

Silva's future is up in the air for the third successive summer given his openness to taking on a new challenge, although once again despite interest from several clubs there has not been a significant offer. A summer market that has seen Mason Mount go for £65m and Declan Rice move for £105m makes it unlikely that City would accept a low valuation for a player who was central to their Treble achievement.

City are desperate to keep both players, not least because they would struggle to replace them with less than a month remaining in the transfer window for them to do so. Guardiola does not want unhappy players in his squad, yet unless the club demands for each are met then the players will be expected to give everything for the Blues again.

"I don't want any players who don't want to be here but I'm an employee. I want to work with guys who want to stay and work with staff and players, but after we have to get a proper offer," said Guardiola.
