Joao Cancelo move 'takes a turn' after injury news and more Man City transfer rumours

Arsenal are reportedly looking to make a move for Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo.

Cancelo's future at the Etihad Stadium has been in severe doubt all year after he decided to leave the club in January. Unfortunately for the Portuguese defender, the loan switch to Bayern Munich did not result in a permanent deal as Thomas Tuchel allowed the 29-year-old to return to City.

Pep Guardiola reintegrated Cancelo during pre-season but the full-back has not featured in a competitive matchday squad. With a move to Barcelona expected, 90min reports that Arsenal will now try to lure him to north London.

Elsewhere, Sport1 reports that Borussia Dortmund have held 'direct talks' regarding a deal for Cole Palmer.

The 21-year-old already has two goals this season, finding the net in the Community Shield and Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup win over Sevilla in Athens. But despite featuring in all three games so far this season, Palmer has only started once and a lack of minutes is central to speculation regarding his future.

Neither Palmer nor Guardiola were able to provide a definitive answer regarding transfer interest when quizzed midweek and Dortmund are among several clubs eyeing a move. The German side are 'very interested' in a deal with manager Edin Terzic keen to add more height to his front line.

The transfer window is in full swing and City have been busy, with high-profile signings and sales aplenty.
