Pep Guardiola press conference LIVE Man City team news ahead of Premier League opener vs Burnley

Pep Guardiola will speak to the media on Thursday afternoon (12.30pm BST) ahead of the Premier League opener between Manchester City and Burnley.

City will get their defence of their league title underway at Turf Moor against the newly promoted Burnley which will once again see them reunite with legend Vincent Kompany.

The former Blues captain brought his side to the Etihad in the FA Cup last season and were on the wrong end of a 6-0 stuffing. Travelling to the Clarets' home patch, a trip Guardiola has often compared to going to the dentist, will likely be much tougher.

Burnely have strengthened considerably by making 10 signings including James Trafford from City as well as Sander Berge, Zeki Amdouni and Jordan Beyer.

City have also made additions to their squad with the signings of Croatian duo Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol. The latter is yet to play for his new club and Guardiola could well be asked about his availability and any more team news.

You can follow the press conference in our blog below.

Just like the city itself, the new PumaxCity shirt is made a ‘bit different’ drawing on Manchester’s industrial heritage. The new away kit is inspired by the towering mills, buzzing warehouses and industry of the city with the all-over tonal graphic print gives the shirt a true retro feel.

Prices start from £45

City boss Pep Guardiola is expected to start speaking to the media at 12:30pm this lunchtime to preview the trip to Burnley tomorrow night.
