Pep Guardiola next job verdict as Man City warning issued with three new roles explained

Opinions have been raised over Pep Guardiola's next job in management after the Manchester City manager swerved an awkward question on his long-term future.

The Catalan was coy on his future after the club's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in Saturday's FA Cup final. Guardiola has one more season on his contract, which will be honoured, but he has left the prospect of an extension up for debate.

City have enjoyed historic success under Guardiola, winning the treble last season and becoming the first team to win four consecutive English top-flight titles. The club have won six Premier League titles under the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss.

And former Middlesbrough midfielder Gaizka Mendieta has offered his opinion on Guardiola's future, sharing his belief that the 53-year-old may go on to manage a national team one day.

“I don't see Pep Guardiola managing the Spain national team. Not soon at least, I don't think so. I think he will be more excited about a team like England or Brazil than Spain in their current situation," he said via OLBG.

“I see him more in other federations. But I think he is ambitious enough to still want to do more things in England with Man City.”

Of the international roles raised by Mendieta, the England job could suit Guardiola more with the Three Lions enjoying a stellar crop of talent. Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane, are just some of the players who would get into any international side.
