Pep Guardiola issues Kyle Walker transfer update as Man City get Kevin De Bruyne injury boost

Here are your Tuesday evening Manchester City headlines.

Pep Guardiola admits Kyle Walker is ‘irreplaceable’ and says he hopes to keep him at the club amid ongoing interest from Bayern Munich in his signature.

The Bundesliga giants have shown a definite interest in signing the 33-year-old this summer, but City want to keep him and have made him an offer to remain at the club.

Reports in Germany suggested that Walker could be left out of the City squad when the two sides meet in pre-season on Wednesday amid uncertainty over his future, however, Guardiola confirms he is set to feature in the match.

Kevin De Bruyne stepped up his injury recovery as he trained with his Manchester City teammates in Tokyo on Tuesday.

De Bruyne limped off in the Champions League final six weeks ago, having played with a hamstring injury for around two months during the run-in. He was named on the bench in the first pre-season friendly win over Yokohama F Marinos, but had not trained with the team before that, instead working individually on an exercise bike before that game.

However, De Bruyne has given City a boost as he was part of the City squad training at the Japan National Stadium ahead of the pre-season friendly with Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

City take on Bayern this week before travelling to South Korea to face Atletico Madrid at the weekend. After that, they return to England for the Community Shield clash with Arsenal, so De Bruyne's potential return is a big boost for Pep Guardiola.
