Pedestrian seriously injured after being struck by Audi on Tesco car park
An elderly woman suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle on a Tesco car park. The incident happened in Macclesfield and police have now issued an appeal for witnesses.
Shortly after 11.30am on Monday July 29th police were called to reports of a collision on the car park of Tesco Express on Broken Cross. Officers attended the scene and found that a pedestrian had been hit by a grey Audi A3.
The pedestrian, a 76-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries to her legs and was taken to hospital. Her condition is currently described as stable. The driver of the car, a 74-year-old man, was uninjured.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward. Inspector Steve Griffiths, of the Serious and Complex Investigation Unit at Cheshire Police, said: “Tesco Express is a busy store and there are likely to have been a number of people around the shop at the time of the incident who may hold vital information.
“I’m particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who saw the aftermath of the incident.The same goes for anyone with any footage which may aid the investigation.”
