Jadon Sancho sends one-word message to Man United teammate after being left out of squad

Jadon Sancho has sent a one-word message to Bruno Fernandes after the Manchester United captain impressed during his side's 1-0 opening day victory over Fulham at Old Trafford.

United kicked off their Premier League campaign with three points thanks to a late strike from new signing Joshua Zirkzee. Although it took until the 87th minute for Erik ten Hag's side to take the lead, they had a number of opportunities beforehand to score, and Fernandes was at the heart of most of what United did well.

The Portugal international could have scored twice in the first-half but was denied both times by Bernd Leno. And, after the game, he posted a couple of images on Instagram accompanied by a message to United supporters.

He said in a caption: "Nothing beats the feeling of being back at Old Trafford," alongside a red love heart emoji. Fernandes added: "Ps: fantasy league managers that trust me sorry for yesterday... I will repay you," followed by the grinning face with sweat emoji and the man facepalming emoji.

In the comments to that Instagram post, Sancho commented: "BRUNO!" with a red love heart emoji. Former United duo Odion Ighalo and Timothy Fosu-Mensah were among the others to express their gratitude with Fernandes, who signed a new three-year contract with the club earlier this week.

As for Sancho, he was left out of the United squad to take on Fulham. The 24-year-old, who came off the bench in the Community Shield against Manchester City last week, didn't make the 20-man contingent for the opening Premier League fixture.
