Paul Scholes Singles Out The ONLY Manchester United Star Who Could Play For Liverpool

United face the real possibility of losing Pogba at the end of the season, with the Frenchman’s current deal set to expire in the summer.

Pogba, 28, is free to speak with clubs outside of England and can sign a pre-contract agreement ahead of a sensational free transfer move at the end of the season.

The Red Devils are in a race against time to tie the United midfielder down to a new contract, with Pogba linked with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.

Scholes, who has criticised Pogba in the past, believes that United’s opponents would be more fearful of playing against the France midfielder over Fred or Scott McTominay.

“Pogba in his best form would [make it into Liverpool’s team],” he told Premier League Productions.

“He is indicative of what the club are doing. Every player is inconsistent. People running the club are inconsistent in what they are doing.

“I have been a big critic of Paul, but if you are an opposing player going to Old Trafford and you are playing against Fred and McTominay ‘all day long.’

“Now, you don’t know what you are going to get with Paul. But when he is on his game, he is brilliant.

“But when he isn’t, then against your Liverpool and Man City’s, you might struggle in them areas. Where do Man United go next year to replace him?”

United will now turn their attention to their Champions League campaign, with Atletico Madrid to host the Red Devils at the Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday.
