Ismaila Sarr could be set for another audition vs Manchester United

Changes

If anything highlights what a state Manchester United were in towards the end of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's regime then it is that, until seven days ago, Watford's last win was against United.

Watford are second from bottom, were thumped by Crystal Palace in midweek and their last six Premier League away wins have come under six different managers. Already, it feels as though Roy Hodgson was parachuted in too late.

United's recent slogs at home and the reverse fixture are red flags but they should be able to freshen the team enough whilst maintaining its competitiveness. An actual right-back, Alex Telles, Scott McTominay or Nemanja Matic, and Anthony Elanga would be advisable recalls.

United do not play for eight days after Watford's visit, so the concept of 'rests' should not be entertained. Hodgson likened Sarr's importance to Watford to Wilfried Zaha at Palace. Injury and the Africa Cup of Nations deprived Watford of Sarr for more than two months and it is not a coincidence they have won two of the last four games he has played in.

Sarr has an impressive six goals in 15 league games this season and is a right-footed winger who actually plays on the right.
