Paul Scholes sends Ruben Amorim Man United nine-word message after controversial decision

Paul Scholes questioned Ruben Amorim's decision to play Patrick Dorgu in a different position during Manchester United's 2-1 FA Cup win over Leicester City.

A strike from Bobby De Cordova-Reid saw United head to the break one goal down, causing Amorim to turn to his bench in the second-half. Joshua Zirkzee tapped into an empty net just minutes after coming off the bench and Harry Maguire would later net the win in stoppage time.

Dorgu meanwhile, was handed his debut after completing the £29.5million move from Lecce in the transfer window. With Luke Shaw still injured and Tyrell Malacia leaving on loan, Dorgu was expected to fill the void on the left - an area where United have struggled.

It was expected he would start on the left, allowing Diogo Dalot to return to his more natural role on the right. But no change was made and Roy Keane questioned the decision at half-time while on punditry duty for ITV.

Scholes meanwhile, took to Instagram and wrote: "Inverted wing-backs. You saw it at Old Trafford first."

Asked about the decision to start Dorgu on the right, Amorim explained: "He played a lot of times for Lecce on the right and the left. That’s one of the characterises we play a lot of attention to. He was a little bit anxious with the first touch of the ball.

"This is a different league for him, different speed of the game but he did well. He has pace, he has strength and he is going to improve a lot. We as a team need to play better to help new guy perform at the right level.

Asked if United fans can expect to see more of Dorgu on the right, Amorim added: "If you have seen the history of Dorgu for his last team he played a lot of games on the right and we have to have wingers who can play both sides like Dalot.
