EastEnders stars share 'biggest fear' ahead of BBC soap's live 40th anniversary episode
EastEnders icons have shared their "biggest fears" as they prepare for the show's live anniversary special.
Saturday Kitchen Live welcomed soap stars Adam Woodyatt and Rudolph Walker, alongside Emma Barton and Jacqueline Jossa, chatting with Matt Tebbutt this past Saturday (February 8).
The BBC soap will mark its 40th anniversary in February 2025 with a live episode broadcast from its set on BBC Elstree Centre on Thursday, February 20.
The episode reveals who attacked Cindy Beale on Christmas Day, while Sonia Fowler will play a major role following the announcement of Natalie Cassidy's departure.
Plus, viewers will get to cast their votes on whether Denise should choose Ravi or Jack Branning in the ongoing love triangle saga.
Adam Woodyatt, the legend behind Ian Beale, and Jacqueline Jossa, known for her role as Lauren Branning, joined Matt Tebbutt while he whipped up a stir fry. Both actors are in the frame for the attack on Cindy Beale that shocked Walford on Christmas Day, with Jacqueline nicknaming the unknown attacker the "Walford Whacker".
When quizzed about their greatest fears for the live show, Adam Woodyatt didn't hesitate: "The buggy not working! ", referring to the camera-moving device on set.
Jacqueline Jossa shared her own concerns: "I suppose there is the fear of the minds going blank and you forgetting what to say. But the thing is, we do it every single day."
Plymouth Live reports she added optimistically, "Hopefully the other person in the scene will help us out and it will be alright if it goes wrong!".
EastEnders is known for its celebration of anniversaries with live episodes, like in 2010 concluding the 'Who killed Archie?' plot and Live week in 2015 asking 'Who killed Lucy Beale?'.
