Refs chief Crawford Allan insists VAR is here to stay despite an independent panel flagging up 13 new ropey replay calls. Allan is adamant TV technology is working but the Hotline reckons its time Scottish football gave fans an input on its use in the Premiership.

Jim McSorley, Bothwell, said: “Crawford Allen stated VAR factually improves the Scottish game but does it improve the product in its current form for the fans? No. If VAR is here to stay then fans must be consulted on how it is used and how VAR decisions are shared with the punter in the ground on a Saturday.”

Chris Lowe, Yoker, added: “Crawford Allan has publicly backed Willie Collum after saying nothing for years while the Celtic hierarchy repeatedly trashed officials. With the news that there was 13 VAR errors in the second quarter and 40 percent of them involving Rangers, it’s clear to see where the issue is Crawford and why Rangers have concerns with certain officials.”
