Noussair Mazraoui issues warning to Man United team-mates as he makes telling claim

Noussair Mazraoui believes Manchester United are too big not to succeed – but has warned that it may take time under new boss Ruben Amorim.

Amorim has wasted no time in stamping his approach on the Red Devils, notably with Mazraoui. The Portuguese boss has moved the defender from right-back to a central position in a three-man defence alongside Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez.

The 27-year-old, who is eager to embrace the new tactical approach, has been struck by the magnitude of United and is certain that the club will go to be successful under Amorim. "I came here to win - and it will come," he said before Sunday's game against Everton, in a clear statement of ambition and intent.

"Manchester United is too big not to. Everyone here knows that, everybody sees that and everybody feels that - especially us as players. We are going to come back - and we are going to come back even harder. But I think that when you want to implement a new style of play that isn't even close to how we played before, no-one can expect us to understand everything the manager has in his mind right from the start."

Mazraoui continued by emphasising the quality within the squad and their willingness to adapt to new philosophies. "So yes, of course, this is going to be a tough time - but come on, we are all top players and we play the game to win," he added.
