BBC Strictly Come Dancing viewers say 'criminal' as show bosses issued demand

Strictly Come Dancing viewers were on the whole left delight with the show's latest Musicals special amid a demand to show bosses.

The hit BBC One dance contest returned to screens on Saturday night (November 30) as the final gets another step closer. As well as it being the quarter-final, it was also Musicals Week in the ballroom with the six remaining couples performing to a song from a well-known stage show with the choices this year including Wicked, Mary Poppins and West Side Story.

Before Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman officially kicked off the latest live show, the show's gang of professional dancers entertained Strictly viewers watching from home as they took the dance floor with a Little Shop of Horrors-themed opening number.

The judges also went all out by dressing up as their own chosen musical characters with Motsi Mabuse channelling a Dreamgirl, Shirley Ballas transforming into Miss Trunchbull, Craig Revel Horwood as the bearded lady from The Greatest Showman and Anton Du Beke who sported a technicolour dreamcoat.

It was then time for the celebrities and their professional dance partners to take to the floor and it was JLS star JB Gill and his professional partner Lauren Oakley who topped the Strictly scoreboard with an almost perfect score of 39. The pair performed a Viennese waltz to Let’s Go Fly A Kite from Mary Poppins, with the duo hugging at its conclusion as they closed the last special week of the 2024 series.
