Ruben Amorim January transfer 'priority' clear as Man United receive huge Alphonso Davies boost

Manchester United have made their transfer window plans clear and signing a new striker is reportedly a priority ahead of January.

While there is uncertainty over Ruben Amorim's budget in the new year, United are expected to be one of the busier clubs. The Mirror report that a striker is at the top of the list for Amorim and Co.

Viktor Gyokeres has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford though a move in the winter is unlikely. Sporting Clube de Portugal are thought to be standing firm on the £83m fee it will take to buy him in January.

Last summer, the club spent a combined total of £200million following the signings of Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Joshua Zirkzee and Manuel Ugarte. Zirkzee meanwhile, has had an underwhelming start to the campaign, and has been behind Rasmus Hojlund in the pecking order. A winter move has been suggested - so much so that Juventus are believed to be interested in a loan.

Meanwhile, Italian outlet Tutto Sport claim Juventus remain keen on the idea of signing Zirkzee on loan in January. It remains to be seen whether United will allow the Dutch striker to leave on loan.

Elsewhere, United-linked Alphonso Davis' agent Nick Househ is reportedly 'angry' at the way in which Bayern Munich have handled the player's contract situation. According to German outlet BILD, Househ had to cancel a trip to Munich to undertake contract discussions, with the meeting moving online.

To Househ's surprise, sporting director Max Eberl then did not attend the call.
