Noa Lang a major Rangers Champions League doubt as PSV boss Peter Bosz admits sweat over club record signing

Noa Lang is a major doubt for PSV ahead of their showdown with Rangers.

The Eindhoven club travel to Glasgow next week to take on Michael Beale's side at Ibrox in the first leg of their Champions League playoff round before the return leg at Philips Stadion eight days later. The Dutch are out for revenge after the Light Blues dumped them out at the same stage last year. Nw they'll get the chance to settle that score after knocking out Sturm Graz, with Rangers beating Swiss side Servette in the third qualifying round.

But Netherlands international Lang may not be available after head coach Peter Bosz confirmed the wideman will miss this weekend's Eredivise clash away at Vitesse Arnhem. The 24-year-old is PSV's record signing, arriving from Club Brugge in the summer for a fee of £12million. Lang was injured against Utrecht on domestic duty last weekend and was on the bench in Austria as a precaution.

But Bosz is unwilling to take any risks with his star man, saying: "Noa is not going to play. It can be dangerous to let him play. I am not going to run that risk at the start of the season. I am not taking him with me.”

Dutch legend Marco van Basten has already identified Lang as the main danger man for Gers to watch out for. He said: "No-one is talking about (Xavi) Simons anymore here because I think Noa Lang is much better than him. If you look at PSV's last two games, he wanted to have the ball and he is a very confident player. He also scores goals and is involved in every attack.
