Peter Bosz issues Rangers Champions League warm up warning as slaps ban on one word around PSV camp

Peter Bosz has warned everyone at PSV Eindhoven not to mention Rangers ahead of the Dutch side’s Eredivisie clash away at Vitesse Arnhem as he looks to continue their perfect start to the 2023/24 season.

The 59-year-old knows the huge importance of their Champions League playoff showdown with the Light Blues as they prepare for a first leg meeting at Ibrox Stadium on Tuesday night. But they face a domestic trip to the GelreDome to face a PSV legend in Phillip Cocu who kicked off the league campaign with a win away to Volendam last week.

It will be PSV’s last game before both legs against Michael Beale’s Rangers with Bosz taking up the KNVB’s offer of postponing next weekend game against Go Ahead Eagles. And Bosz, looking to make it five wins in a row at the start of the campaign after their victories over Sturm Graz and Feyenoord in the Dutch Super Cup as well as last week’s league opener against Utrecht, wants his players to blank all thoughts of Rangers.

Ahead of the trip, Bosz - looking to beat the Light Blues with a third different club - said: “There is no taboo on the word Rangers, but I just don't want to hear anything about it. I'm not saying anything about it.

"That has always been the working method that I have had at my previous clubs. No distractions. As a trainer and group of players you just need a lot of attention for the next game.”

Club record signing Noa Lang, who joined from Club Brugge in a £12 million move in the summer, won’t feature against Vitesse Arnhem. He is a doubt for the trip to Glasgow.
