New protest shows Glazers can't hide from unpopular Manchester United takeover decision
You don’t feel the heat of a fire until it comes close to home and in the case of the Glazers, it is now on their doorstep. While watching their NFL franchise, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, succumb to their first defeat of the season to the Philadelphia Eagles, Kevin and Edward Glazer may have noticed a plane with a banner trailing behind it passing overhead.
From their padded seats inside the Raymond James Stadium, they may have not been able to work out what it said given its small size but the ‘Glazer Out’ message is now having a growing impact on US shores.
Manchester United supporter groups from Tampa and Pittsburgh had organised the fly-by in protest of the Glazer family’s much-maligned ownership of the club. It’s not clear whether Joel and Avram Glazer were at the stadium on Monday evening US-time.

They will undoubtedly learn of the act of protest in one shape or another, but whether they care is another issue. They should do.
Anti-Glazer protests have long been staged back in Manchester and still continue to this day. In June, supporters temporarily blocked the entrance to the club’s megastore upon the new kit release in a gesture to show their dismay with the Glazers continuing to profit from United.
After the 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest, fans staged a sit-in protest while voicing their anger at the owners. More such acts will inevitably follow as long as the Glazers remain in situ.
What the US billionaire family may not have expected is the frustration to incarnate itself on home shores. In July, during the pre-season tour of the US, American United fans were seen joining in with anti-Glazer
