New Pepsi Electric flavour splits opinions as some say it 'tastes like flowers'

Fizzy drink enthusiasts take note - there's a new Pepsi flavour that's sparking quite the conversation.

Pepsi is a household name when it comes to cola, a classic choice for those craving a carbonated kick. But in a bold move away from tradition, Pepsi has been dabbling with an array of new flavours, introducing us to twists like Pepsi Max Mango, Pepsi Max Lime, and Pepsi Max Cherry.

Yet, it's their latest concoction, Pepsi Electric, that's really getting tongues wagging online. Announced in May as a limited-edition release in the UK, the buzz has only grown, with social media users now fervently discussing its merits.

A snapshot of Pepsi Electric bottles on sale at a local Morrisons was shared on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, quickly amassing over 500 comments as people weighed in with their verdicts.

Pitched as a "zesty citrus" flavoured cola, Pepsi Electric stands out with its vibrant blue hue. However, some Facebook users are questioning the citrus claim, with taste tests yielding mixed reactions.

In response to a query about its intended flavour profile, several chimed in that it should hint at "citrus". Yet, opinions diverged with one person bluntly stating it "just tastes like Pepsi Max," while another joked: "And smells of old saliva!"

Someone else voiced their disapproval, stating: "It's grim, tasted like flowers," while another let-down customer conveyed: "Starts off kind of citrus-like but then becomes more aniseed tasting. It's a very odd flavour and it's not nice at all."
