Newcastle ace drops Man City transfer hint as Pep Guardiola eyes Man United target

Pep Guardiola will be eager to strengthen his squad and win the Premier League for a fifth year in a row. Manchester City, who pipped Arsenal to the English top flight title on the final day of the season, have already welcomed Savinho to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

While the 20-year-old winger has been widely dubbed as top young player, his arrival has cast doubt over the future of Oscar Bobb. Interestingly, the 21-year-old, who was handed his senior debut last season, has been briefly linked with a move to Chelsea recently.

Kevin De Bruyne also faces an uncertain future at City, with his contract set to expire in June 2025. So, with that being said, the Manchester Evening News have rounded up the latest news and transfer gossip from the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday morning.

Joelinton has dealt Manchester City a slight blow to their hopes of signing Bruno Guimaraes this summer. In his first interview after signing a new deal at Newcastle United back in April 2024, the Brazilian midfielder revealed whether or not he thinks his fellow countryman will leave St James' Park.

"Yes, I hope he stays," said Joelinton, as quoted by the Mirror. "I know him, he loves the club as well. He loves the fans, he enjoys his life in Newcastle United. He’s glad to be there for his life as well as football.

"Newcastle and the club want him to be happy and stay for many years. I think he’s going to stay. He tells me he’s going to come back next week and get ready for the season."
