Brits left baffled after Co-op launches new 'seriously saucy' crisp flavour

The days when we had a limited selection of crisp flavours are well and truly over.

Major brands such as Walkers and McCoy's are constantly delighting our palates with some rather unique flavours, whether they're available for a short period or become a staple in their range. Now, the Co-op launched 'Hand Cooked Seriously Saucy' crisps within its 'Irresistible' line.

The limited edition snack are described on the packet as 'seasoned with a blend your favourite sauces'. A Reddit user stumbled upon them and posted a picture to the UK_Food subreddit, expressing her confusion with the caption: "I'm baffled. What flavour?!"

Another Reddit user was just as puzzled after listing out the ingredients, commenting: "The seasoning is Maltodextrin, Sugar, Spirit Vinegar Powder, Salt, 'Flavouring', Yeast Extract, Spices (Paprika, Chipotle Chilli), Citric Acid, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Smoked Salt, Paprika Extract. I can't figure out if 'Flavouring' is those following ingredients, or something 'secret'."

However, some who have tried the crisps were quick to endorse them. One person recommended: "They basically put all the flavours in one and surprisingly it works. Definitely has a bit of tang to it and goes nicely with a pint."

A second concurred: "Had these and couldn't understand what flavour they were... I agree with you though they were very tasty with a drink." A third chimed in with their own description, saying: "They're like tangy, vinegary, ketchupy, sweet and spicy barbecue. And they're so good! A flavour all of their own. And now I'm craving them dammit."
