Netherlands handed mammoth England Euro 2024 boost from UEFA after major semi-final decision on fans

The Netherlands have secured a big boost for their Euro 2024 last four battle with England.

UEFA have revealed they've snagged half the tickets for the iconic 'yellow wall' stand at Borussia Dortmund's Westfalenstadion. The 25,000-seater section is notorious for its daunting atmosphere, often enveloped in a sea of yellow by the vocal Dortmund supporters. Now, Dutch fans are set to replicate that vibrant spectacle with their own shade of orange after UEFA decided to exclude England from direct ticket allocation for this area.

As reported by The Times, the remaining tickets for the stand have been released for general sale by the tournament organisers, leaving open the possibility for some England supporters to be amidst the Dutch crowd. However, the diehard supporters won't be forming ranks there, allowing the Netherlands to dominate with a vivid display and thunderous support. The Dutch faithful have already made their presence felt throughout Euro 2024, gaining recognition for parading through German streets while engaging in their 'links rechts' (left right) chant, reports the Express.

Following their team's triumph over Turkey in the quarter-finals on Saturday night, they'll be eager to once again be the driving force from the stands. The Netherlands found themselves trailing Turkey after Samet Akaydin netted a goal just 10 minutes before half-time. However, they managed to equalise with 20 minutes left on the clock, thanks to Stefan de Vrij's successful strike. The Dutch team secured their victory when Mert Muldur inadvertently scored an own goal six minutes later.
