Nations League draw LIVE as Scotland's best and worst case scenarios made clear
The Tartan Army are focussing on the return to the big stage - but the attention of Andy Robertson and Co must look beyond the World Cup.
The tickets are being snapped up and the flights are booked as Steve Clarke gears up his side for the end of the 28-year wait - but the Nations League is back on the agenda straight afterwards.
The opponents for the 2026-27 campaign will be revealed in Brussels with a route open to Euro 2028.
Scotland are in League B this time around after being relegated from the top tier last spring when Greece celebrated a 3-1 aggregate win in the play-off. But they will be promoted to League A if they top their group.
The best-performing teams in the Nations League that do not qualify for the 2028 tournament from the qualification campaign will enter play-offs to earn the final qualifying spots.
Alternatively, a tough draw could enhance the threat of relegation. If Scotland finish bottom of their group they will be relegated or face a play-off by finishing in third place.

What will the next campaign have in store? We'll find out very shortly.
Not long now before the draw gets started!
Let's start with the good news – we can't draw Israel, because they're in Pot 1 alongside us.
