Nathaniel Adjei 'watched' by Rangers as defender also puts Celtic on alert with Hammarby decision looming

Rising Hammarby star Nathaniel Adjei has reportedly been scouted by Rangers with Celtic also said to be keeping tabs on the centre-back.

The 21-year-old is enjoying his breakthrough season in Sweden having been promoted to the first-team by boss Marti Cifuentes before the boss left for Queens Park Rangers. He made his European debut in the Europa Conference League and looks to have attracted a number of suitors with his impressive displays in the Swedish Allsvenskan this term.

Sky Sports claim that Rangers have been quick off the mark as they consider making a move to bring Adjei to the Scottish Premiership with "a representative watching the player in person last month," while their Glasgow rivals Celtic are "monitoring" the defender's situation at Hammarby. Teams in Belgium and Italy also reportedly hold an interest in Adjei who faces a big decision when the Swedish league campaign ends later in November.

Adjei is "likely" to assess his options once the season is concluded. He is said to be open to the prospect of a January move away from Hammarby.
