Nat Phillips a Celtic injury worry for Feyenoord clash as precaution turns ankle scare for Liverpool loanee
Celtic are sweating the fitness of Nat Phillips ahead of their Champions League showdown with Feyenoord.
The on-loan Liverpool defender was substituted at half-time in their win over Dundee but Brendan Rodgers was quick to reassure worried fans it was nothing more than a precaution. That appeared to suggest he was in line for his second successive start in Rotterdam as Celtic kick off their Champions League Group E campaign.
But it now appears it is a slightly more serious with Rodgers admitting a decision on his fitness will go down to the wire as he's picked up an ankle problem. He said: “Nat has rolled his ankle so we will just have to see on that." As for the rest of his team though, all looks rosy as Rodgers added: "Other than that pretty much the guys are fine, they are working their way up to fitness. Apart from that they are OK.”
