5 Celtic loan options for Duncan Ferguson as new Inverness boss reveals Brendan Rodgers helping hand hope

He's only just arrived in the Highlands, but Duncan Ferguson is already planning to add to his new Inverness Caledonian Thistle squad.

The Everton legend has been appointed as Billy Dodds' successor on a three-year deal and is tasked with getting Caley off the bottom of the Championship table. They've managed just one point from their opening six matches ahead of big Dunc's first game in the dugout away to Arbroath on Saturday.

Ferguson is confident his squad has what it take to start climbing the table. But reinforcements are always welcome, especially for a new boss. With the loan window still open, the former Rangers front man is able to recruit - on a temporary basis at least - from the Scottish Premiership. And he revealed he's already put out the feelers to Brendan Rodgers in the hope that the Celtic manager can "help him out" with one or two loans to boos his numbers.

"Yes, we can get them from the Scottish Prem and we have some boys that out out of contract," he said. "I've already been on to one or two of the Scottish managers and I spoke to Brendan this morning, so he's going to help me out, hopefully! We'll look and see if we can identify some players, and we'll take it from there."
