Munster lose again after shock Dragons defeat

Munster's poor start to the BKT United Rugby Championship season has continued, after they fell to a 23-17 defeat to the Dragons, losing to the Welsh region for the first time since 2015.

The hosts put their off-field troubles behind them to record their first win at Rodney Parade for over 18 months, leaving Munster boss Graham Rowntree still looking for his first win, after four defeats in a row across pre-season and the URC.

With Dragons director of rugby, Dean Ryan, reported to have departed after three years in the post, it was left to head coach, Dai Flanagan, to pick up a win in his first home game in charge.

They had to rely on a superb individual try from Rio Dyer for the victory with former Munster out-half JJ Hanrahan kicking six penalties.
