'Multi-vehicle' crash closes lanes of M4 causing long delays

A multi-vehicle crash has closed two lanes of the M4 near Newport with long queues in the area. Traffic was temporarily held after the crash before 9am on Wednesday, July 3, between junction 23A A4810 (Magor Services) and junction 24 A449 (Coldra) Westbound.

Two lanes remain closed as a result of the accident and debris on the road. Traffic cameras show gridlocked traffic in the area with long queues trailing back past Magor.

CCTV cameras from the scene show traffic control officers at the scene and a Welsh Ambulance vehicle also appears to be present. It is not yet known how many vehicles are involved.
