Motherwell launch 'like never before' home kit for new season

Motherwell have launched their new 'like never before' home kit for season 2024/25, which has split opinion amongst fans.

The new shirt, which goes on sale at 9.30am on Friday, has a white collar and cuffs, and an claret section from the shoulders to the middle of the chest, with a small white horizontal split. Amber makes up the rest of the split with the back amber, also.

A hexagon shape is embossed throughout the shirt, with claret shorts with a white hoop round the base, and hooped socks.

Motherwell say it's almost, but not quite, a return to a design from the 1913-14 season, and was created using focus groups, allowing supporters to gather and voice their opinions and ideas of what they wanted to see.

Opinion on the kit has divided supporters, with some taking to X (formerly Twitter) to voice their thoughts.

Max said: "Definitely in the minority here but I think it's actually quite a good kit."

But cameron_mcd commented: "Plenty of time to delete this and we can pretend it never happened."

Alba Gu Brath (Q) said: "Am I the only one who likes this? the shorts should be white, but other than that it's perfect."

Alan Currie added: "That is horrendous. Who gave the go ahead for this disaster?!"

Paul Braynion said: "I reckon it'll be the least bought top in our history. Looks like a training top. They better hope the away top is a belter!!!!"

And Jamie Taylor said: "I like it! Only change I'd make is to make the white sections slightly thinner, but apart from that I like how it's change from the norm (with a bod back to an old kit)."
