Jadon Sancho unaccounted for as Manchester United return for pre season training

Jadon Sancho was not accounted for at Manchester United's first day back for pre-season.

United players reported for pre-season training at their Carrington training complex on Monday morning ahead of their first friendly against Rosenborg next Monday.

Sancho, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, was expected to return to his parent club today.

United have remained tight-lipped on whether Sancho arrived at Carrington. Sancho's representatives have been approached for comment.

Sancho, 24, was not spotted among the arrivals and did not feature in the imagery and footage United released.

Andre Onana, Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Mason Mount, Amad, Antony, Casemiro and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were among the senior players to report.

Hannibal Mejbri has returned after his loan spell with Sevilla while new coaches Ruud van Nistelrooy, Rene Hake and Jelle ten Rouwelaar were also at Carrington. Former technical director Darren Fletcher and first team coach Steve McClaren were among the arrivals.

Some players' returns are staggered but were agreed in advance. A cardiologist and a nurse were also on the premises to conduct players' pre-season medicals.

Mason Greenwood returned to Carrington for the first time in two-and-a-half years ahead of his expected move to Marseille. United are in advanced discussions with the French club.

United players are being housed in the £7million building for the academy and women's players while work is carried out in the main building.
