Motherwell boss confirms Theo Bair sale is at an "advanced stage"

Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell has confirmed that the club are at an advanced stage in selling striker Theo Bair.

While reports have linked the Canadian international with a move to Auxerre, Kettlewell refused to confirm where the 15-goal hero is headed.

And he also said reports that newly-promoted Auxerre are willing to spend £1.3m on Bair have been "under-shot".

Bair has been with the Canadian national team at the Copa America, where they reached the semi-final and eventually finished fourth.

Kettlewell said this morning: "We are at an advanced stage in terms of Theo moving on. I've seen so many reports and there's not one accurate in terms of the numbers.

"He's just finished with Canada. There have been a lot of conversations and I've been really transparent with some of the bids that have been turned down.

"But I'm now thinking it will start to move over the next 24 to 48 hours."
