Morning travel chaos as trains cancelled and long queues build after M60 crash
Drivers and rail passengers were facing misery on their morning commute after two incidents.
Long queues built up on the M60 clockwise following a crash near junction one at the Stockport Pyramid this morning (September 10).
Lanes were 'partially blocked' between junctions one and 27, at Portwood, according to the Inrix traffic monitoring service.
Google traffic data showed queues tailing back all the way to junction 23 at Ashton-under-Lyne.

Meanwhile, trains at Manchester Victoria were cancelled or delayed after a level crossing failure at Smithy Bridge, near Rochdale.
A National Rail spokesperson said: "A fault with the barriers at a level crossing at Smithy Bridges means that trains must run at a reduced speed on all lines.
"As a result, trains running through Todmorden and Rochdale will be cancelled or delayed by up to 10 minutes. Disruption is expected until 09:00.
"Wigan Wallgate services to Todmorden will terminate and start back from Manchester Victoria.
