M62 traffic LIVE updates with long queues on motorway after crash

Traffic is building up through the Pennines following a crash on the M62 near Rochdale.

One lane of traffic has been closed following a collision on the westbound carriageway between junctions 21 at Milnrow and 20 at Rochdale.

Queues are tailing back past junction 22 at Saddleworth, heading into West Yorkshire, according to Google traffic data.

A post on the Inrix traffic monitoring service said: "Long delays and one lane closed due to accident on M62 Westbound from J21 A6193 Sir Isaac Newton Way (Milnrow) to J20 A627(M) J3 Rochdale."

Traffic is slow approaching Greater Manchester on the M62 westbound.

There are also delays on the A672 southbound towards Saddleworth as drivers try to avoid the queues.

All lanes have now reopened but long queues remain on the M62.

An update from Inrix said:

"Long delays due to earlier accident on M62 Westbound from J21 A6193 Sir Isaac Newton Way (Milnrow) to J20 A627(M) J3 Rochdale.

"All lanes have been reopened."

Heavy traffic has built up on the M62 approaching Greater Manchester following a crash near Rochdale.

One lane has been closed between junctions 21 at Milnrow and 20 at Rochdale, following a collision this morning.

Traffic is tailing back through the Pennines, past junction 22 at Saddleworth.
