More cheap rush hour gigs coming to Manchester as second venue announced
More cheap rush hour gigs are coming to Manchester this autumn.
The Halle — one of the city’s oldest orchestras — has announced four hour-long early evening shows, which will be played at The Bridgewater Hall. Its new artist-in-residence, Thomas Adès, plus Benjamin Grosvenor, and Craig Ogden are all lined up to play.
Tickets will cost between £5.50 and £22.50. After the show, for those wanting to delay the commute a bit longer, a drinks will be held in the bar with free performances from young musicians.

The Halle’s move follows a similar programme launched by The Stoller Hall, which announced its own series of rush hour concerts — starting at 6pm — in August. Tickets for those events are £5, and guests can pre-order a drink.
“Our new programme of ‘rush hour performances’ is a double whammy – you can support these exceptional young people and avoid busy travel times,” explained Fran Healey, Creative Commercial Director for The Stoller Hall. “We’re very grateful for the generous support of The Haworth Trust who have made this new programme possible.”
Its first gig was held on Wednesday (September 13), with the next show in the series to be held in November, with Ensemble Raynard performing.
