Minnesota Vikings: Running back Dalvin Cook talks exclusively to GMS ahead of NFL London Games

The Minnesota Vikings are in London this weekend for the first of the 2022 NFL London Games and the start of the international period that sees the NFL take the game overseas.

They start this week in the United Kingdom as the Vikings take on the New Orleans Saints before the New York Giants take on the Green Bay Packers next week and the Jacksonville Jaguars host the Denver Broncos at the end of the month.

For the very first time, the games will move to Germany as the Seattle Seahawks take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before wrapping up in Mexico with the San Francisco 49ers taking on the Arizona Cardinals.

The Vikings have of course played in London before, taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2013 and then the Cleveland Browns in 2017, winning both of those games and they’ll be looking to make it three out of three as they take on the New Orleans Saints at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

One of the stars of the Vikings side is running back Dalvin Cook, who has become one of the top running backs in the NFL, rushing for over 1,000 yards in each of the past three seasons, including a remarkable 2020 season in which he came 2nd in both yards with 1,551 and rushing touchdowns with 16.

This season has got off to a bit of a slow start for him, as he’s yet to break 100 yards rushing in a game, and has only scored 1 touchdown, and he’ll be hoping to turn his fortunes around this weekend.

Back in the summer, he sat down with us to preview the games in London, talk about the ambitions he has for the team, and what life is like now that his brother James is in the league among other things.

GiveMeSport: Great to have one of the top running backs in the league come talk to us, it’s absolutely fantastic. So through your first five
