Miami Dolphins: Fans fume over 'dangerous' field conditions at Minnesota Vikings game

Fans have been reacting to images that have emerged from the Miami Dolphins’ game against the Minnesota Vikings regarding the weather for both teams.

There is an old saying in football (or soccer, depending on which side of the Atlantic you’re reading this from), and it goes something like this. ‘Could he do it on a cold, wet, windy night in Stoke’. Often used as a marker for how tough someone is and whether or not their ability will hold up when battling against the elements.

And when it comes to playing in the NFL, the country is so big it allows you to deal with multiple extreme weather situations, from the heat of playing the Miami Dolphins in the Florida sun in September, to the rain of the Pacific Northwest when you face the Seattle Seahawks, to the infamous ‘Frozen Tundra’ that is the Green Bay Packers’ Lambeau Field.

So with teams coming from different part of the country on a weekly basis to play their games, it can often mean that teams have to play in a temperature that they aren’t always quite used to.

Hard Rock has been designed in such a way, that as the sun moves throughout the day, it moves away from the home team’s sideline as soon as possible, and makes sure that those on the visitor’s sideline have to experience the full force of it for as long as possible.

Which can lead to quite the difference in temperature at field
