NFL London Games: 5 things we learned as the Giants beat the Packers 27-22

The NFL was back in London for the second time in the 2022 season, and this was certainly a momentous one, as after 15 years of waiting, the Green Bay Packers and their quarterback, back-to-back reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers made their London debut.

The fact that they were playing the New York Giants, the team who played in the very first London game back in 2007 when they took on the Miami Dolphins at Wembley, meant that things have officially come full circle on this side of the Atlantic.

But after all the pomp and circumstance that preceded the game, including a rather nice video montage and flag display for the 31 teams that had come to London beforehand, it was down to serious business as the two sides put on a very good game.

But just what did we learn from the game, both in terms of the small picture of the confines of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and the NFL as a whole? Well we’ve broken it down to just five things to give you a little bitesize taste of what went on in North London.

As was made pretty clear in the buildup to the game, this was the first time that the NFL has sent the UK two teams that had winning records when the game was played, as both teams came into the game wirth 3-1 records, that meant a competitive game from start to finish, and some incredible plays throughout, including from the Giants for their first touchdown of the day.
