Michael Beale wants Ryan Kent type Rangers transfer as boss looks for final piece of rebuild jigsaw
Michael Beale is on the hunt for a new Ryan Kent before the end of the transfer window as he looks to put the finishing touches to his Rangers side.
The Ibrox boss - who all but confirmed Glen Kamara’s Gers career is over - has overhauled his squad with nine new signings this summer but insists he’s not done yet. Forwards Sam Lammers, Abdallah Sima, Cyriel Dessers and Danilo have all been brought in but Beale, who saw winger Kent leave for Fenerbahce under freedom of contract, is eager to add an explosive spark from the wide areas.
With less than three weeks left of the transfer window the manager was quizzed on the remaining ins and outs as he prepared to face Livingston this afternoon a week on from the opening day defeat at Kilmarnock. Leeds-linked midfielder Kamara has been training alone and is one “definitely going to move on” according to the boss but Scott Wright, who saw a move to Turkish side Spendiksor collapse, will be at Rangers “for the foreseeable future”.
But Beale still wants more and said: “If you look at the forward areas, we lost Malik Tillman, Antonio Colak, Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Fashion Sakala.
“We’ve lost five and brought four in. You’re hoping Kemar Roofe or Tom Lawrence will make a massive impact this year, that they weren’t able to do last year.
“The one area we’re probably a little bit light is someone like a Ryan Kent. Whether we’ll get there between now and the end of the window, or do we find that within in our squad, time will tell.
“Every emotion has been heightened in our support obviously because of last weekend’s result. I’m aware of that. But I believe this team and these players will come good.
