Jota sees Fenerbahce launch transfer 'operation' as Celtic hero makes up Al Ittihad training numbers amid Saudi saga

Fenerbahce are reportedly set to launch a transfer bid for Jota.

The Portuguese winger has been welcomed into Al Ittihad training amid his transfer saga - but the big-money import from Celtic still has little chances of making the starting XI. Jota has dominated headlines this month, just weeks after completing a £25m exit from the Premiership champions for big bucks in the Saudi Pro League.

And, according to Turkish outlet sporx.com, Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce are keen on the player which would see him link up with former Old Firm rival Ryan Kent. Steven Gerrard's Al Ettifaq were also linked with signing him on loan, with the Tigers believed to be keen on moving Jota out with another world superstar targeted. Mo Salah has ben widely mentioned as one in their sights.

Nuno Santo Espirito's side have already claimed the likes of Karim Benzema, Fabinho and N'Golo Kante this summer and it's suggested by Arriyadiyah that the Celtic favourite has been in training with the club's top table stars. But his Portuguese boss wants him in "to prepare him to participate mainly if the coach wants to rotate between the players."

He's been on the bench for the opening league fixtures in the middle-east and now sources seem to suggest that the 24-year-old now is now having to settle for a rotational role at Al Ittihad if his move is not clinched.

Atalanta in Italy have also been linked. Brendan Rodgers meanwhile is hunting a replacement for the Benfica youth product. And Aris star Luis Palma may be that man, with a £3.5m bid said to have been launched.
