Michael Beale's personal Rangers checklist set at unveiling he has failed to reach as 'win 56' leads missed goals

The Rangers fans made their feelings clear on Michael Beale after defeat to Aberdeen as the boos rang out at Ibrox following the full-time whistle.

But it may not have come as a surprise to the boss as he has failed to live up to the targets he set during his first press conference as Light Blues boss. The Londoner left Queens Park Rangers behind just 10 months ago to return to Govan as he looked to replicate the success he had while working alongside Steven Gerrard at Ibrox.

However, Rangers have failed to impress since Beale took over with the punters struggling to identify a clear style of play since Gio van Bronckhorst left the club despite a massive summer turnover of players. Gers are trailing league leaders Celtic by seven points in the Scottish Premiership already and Beale also failed to lift either the Viaplay Cup or Scottish Cup last term as Ange Postecoglou led the Hoops to a domestic clean sweep.

And that drops well below the target Beale set during his unveiling - with silverware a top target for the boss when he was ushered into the hot seat. The boss was put on the spot about the targets he had set with then-sporting director Ross Wilson and the board - with Beale setting his goals on a rapid title victory.

He said: "We need to win 56 as soon as possible. We need to improve our cup record which we slightly improved last year by winning the Scottish Cup and we need to improve our identity on the pitch. That’s what I feel and that’s what the group of players feel as well.
