Met Office issues yellow weather warning over 'dense fog' in Greater Manchester

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for fog in parts of Greater Manchester this morning.

The warning came into force just before 3am today (Wednesday) and is set to last until 11am. It covers much of our region, including the city centre, Tameside, Bury, Bolton, Wigan, Trafford, Salford and Stockport.

It also covers parts of Merseyside, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the Midlands. The Met Office predict 'dense fog' this morning in the areas covered by the warning.

This is 'expected to cause some disruption' with slower journey times on buses and rail expected. The fog is also expected to cause difficult driving conditions on the roads.

According to forecasters, the weather in our region today will be a mix of sunny intervals and cloud. It will cold this morning, with temperatures of around 6C to 7C forecast until later on.
