Men shot and stabbed in violent 'disturbance' in Oldham

Men were shot and stabbed in a violent 'disturbance' in Oldham. Greater Manchester Police has said that one man presented himself at A&E with gunshot wounds to his arms, while another man was found having been stabbed.

Police were called by staff at the Royal Oldham Hospital A&E department at around 8.30pm yesterday (May 22) after a man arrived with 'serious injuries that have now been confirmed to be gunshot wounds to his arms', the force said. Initial CCTV enquiries were carried out and police discovered there had been a 'disturbance' in Busk Road, Oldham.

Another man was found at the location of the disturbance having 'suffered from stab injuries', according to GMP.

The police warned that 'over the coming days you will see an increased police presence in the area as local officers continue to establish the circumstances of what has happened'.

Police were seen flooding the residential street, in the estate behind the B&M store in Chadderton, shortly before 9pm last night. Armed officers were spotted at the scene before specialist crime scene investigation (CSI) officers arrived and began carrying out enquiries inside the cordon.
