Three arrested in raids at holiday park in Wales after men shot and stabbed in Oldham

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after men were shot and stabbed in Oldham last Wednesday (May 22).

Officers were called to the scene of the incident on Busk Road in the Chadderton area on Wednesday evening (May 22). Police were called to the street after a man suffered 'serious knife wounds'. Another man attended A&E at the Royal Oldham Hospital with gunshot wounds.

Detectives from GMPs Major Incident Team, who are investigating the incident, along with North Wales Police raided a holiday park in Abergele on Tuesday (May 28).

Two men aged 32 and 22 were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All remain in police custody ahead of being questioned by detectives.

Detective Inspector Alex Wilkinson of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “So far, we have conducted five search warrants and nine property searches have been executed as part of our investigation whilst securing one charge and making a total of eight arrests.

“Our work is far from over but the investigation is moving at pace, and we continue to work relentlessly to capture a picture of what happened leading up to the incident. We continue to urge anyone who has any information or any CCTV, mobile or dashcam footage from the area in the evening of 22 May to contact us as a matter of urgency."

Previously, Stephen Wilson, 28, of Salford, and Jordan Aston, 33, of no fixed abode, were both charged with attempted murder. They have also been charged on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon. Both Wilson and Aston have been remanded into custody.
